What Family Hub is
Family Hub is a shared household organizer: a calendar, shopping and to-do lists, a meal planner, and an admin dashboard for connecting calendars and files your family already uses. It is used by the household that signs up for it — there is no public directory, ad network, or data resale of any kind.
Account information
When you sign up, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (or, if you use one, an OAuth identity). This is used only to authenticate you and to identify who did what within your household — never shared with anyone outside your household, never sold, never used for advertising.
Google Calendar access
If you connect a Google account, Family Hub requests permission to read and write your Google Calendar events — nothing else (not Gmail, not Contacts, not your Google profile beyond your email address). This is used to keep your Google Calendar and your Family Hub calendar in sync in both directions: events you create in either place appear in the other.
Google Drive access
If you connect Google Drive, Family Hub requests read-only access to browse your files and folders — it cannot create, edit, move, or delete anything in your Drive. File and folder listings are fetched live each time you open the Drive view; Family Hub does not download, copy, or permanently store the contents or metadata of your Drive files.
How your data is stored and protected
Household data (events, lists, recipes, and similar) is stored in a Postgres database. OAuth tokens for any connected Google account are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM, a unique random key per encryption) before they are ever written to the database, are never logged, and are never returned by any API response.
Disconnecting and deleting your data
You can disconnect a Google Calendar or Google Drive connection at any time from Integrations in the admin section — this immediately deletes the stored, encrypted credentials for that connection. Disconnecting Google Calendar does not delete events already synced into Family Hub; they remain as ordinary local events. To have your account and household data deleted entirely, contact us using the details below.
